Montgatins y Montgatines el 10S conmemoramos el desembarco de 1705 en nuestra playa

Hoy queremos recordar la historia de Montgat y celebrar juntos un hecho histórico porque en Montgat estamos abiertos al mar.

La playa de Montgat  jugó un papel importante durante la guerra de Sucesión. El 22 de agosto de 1705 las tropas de la Alianza de La Haya desembarcaron en la playa cerca del “Turó”, ocuparon Barcelona y resistieron el contraataque felipista , haciendo huir hacia Francia a Felipe V.

El 10 de Septiembre Montgat se abre aún más al mar, en un día festivo y con muchísimas actividades para resaltar la figura del general José Moragues, que comandaba la unidad de soldados catalanes que participaron en este desembarco.
